Wooden box set with 28 extra-fine oil colours from the Lefranc Bourgeois Extra-Fine Oil range, six additives for oil painting (three mediums, rectified turpentine and two varnishes), four oil painting brushes, two painting knives, charcoal sticks for sketching and a wooden palette. The paint is the same as that of the individual tubes in the Extra-Fine range: a dense-textured oil colour, made in France. It is oil painting material for artists.

What is it used for?

• Painting in oil with the Lefranc Bourgeois Extra-Fine range, from the sketch to colour on the palette.
• Sketching the composition on the support with the charcoal sticks before starting to paint.
• Applying colour with brush or painting knife: the box set includes four oil painting brushes and two painting knives.
• Evening out sunk-in areas (the patches that dry matt) with the Surfin retouching varnish, as a temporary coat before the final varnish.
• Varnishing the finished painting with the Surfin anti-UV (ultraviolet) picture varnish, with a gloss finish.

Presentation and storage

• Presentation: wooden box set with 28 extra-fine oil colours, six additives, four oil painting brushes, two painting knives, charcoal sticks for sketching, a wooden palette and a colour chart.
• The six additives: Venetian medium, impasto medium, J.G. Vibert slow-drying painting medium, rectified turpentine, Surfin retouching varnish, matt-satin and Surfin anti-UV picture varnish, gloss.
• Store each product in its original container, tightly closed, in a cool, ventilated place.
• Away from direct sunlight, heat and ignition sources.

Lefranc Bourgeois is a brand of the Colart group. The Extra-Fine Oil range is made in France.

Before you use it

• Four of the additives are flammable liquids: the turpentine, the Vibert medium and the two varnishes. Use them away from heat, sparks and flames, and outdoors or in a well-ventilated place.
• Retouching varnish is not applied after the final varnish. It goes before: it is the temporary coat that evens out sunk-in areas.
• Avoid release to the environment: turpentine, zinc white and retouching varnish. The titanium and zinc whites, the turpentine and the anti-UV varnish are disposed of, with their container, at a hazardous waste collection point.
• Keep out of the reach of children: the Vibert medium and the anti-UV varnish. The turpentine and the Vibert medium have child-resistant fastenings.
• Incompatible with strong bases and strong acids: the oil colours, the turpentine and the Venetian medium. Kept apart from strong bases and acids, they are stored as indicated above.
