Extra-fine quality oil paint, made with specific fine art pigments, offering high lightfastness and luminosity. The drying vegetable oils in MIR oil paints are carefully selected to avoid altering the pigment's hue and to dry uniformly into a colorless layer of maximum transparency and homogeneity. Pinturas MIR has been manufacturing art paints in Spain since 1933.
This range includes the whites and yellows from MIR Extra-Fine Oil Paint. Choose the color and format (20, 60, or 200 ml tube) from the same dropdown menu.
Why choose MIR Extra-Fine Oil Paint?
- Fine art pigments with high lightfastness and great luminosity.
- Selected drying vegetable oils designed not to alter the pigment's hue.
- Uniform drying into a colorless layer, with maximum transparency and homogeneity.
- Three formats per color: 20, 60, and 200 ml (1 L and 5 L upon request).
Uses and applications
- Artistic oil painting: on canvas, board, and prepared paper.
- Conservation-restoration: retouching and reconstruction of pictorial layers in original oil technique, where medium compatibility with the original is sought. (For reversible reintegration according to museum standards, specific non-oil media are used.)
- Color study, direct painting, glazes, and impasto.

Instructions for use and precautions
Oil paint dries by oxidation of the oils; drying time varies depending on color, thickness, and environmental conditions. Follow the "fat over lean" rule when layering. Clean tools with turpentine essence or white spirit before the paint dries.
Safety
Low-risk product in normal use. Cadmium colors (cadmium yellows and reds) contain pigments classified as hazardous: do not ingest, do not spray or sand the dry film, and consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for the specific color. "Hue" colors are cadmium-free imitations. Keep out of reach of children.
