Safetop Phoenix 10490 — the enclosed goggles against droplets and coarse dust, with an ultraviolet filter
Protective goggles: they fit the contour of the face and, unlike open-frame spectacles, can carry the marking against liquid droplets and coarse dust, as well as the one for impacts. The lens is polycarbonate, curved for greater side protection, transparent and with an anti-fog treatment; the frame is polypropylene, with a flexible thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) face band and a micro-perforated silicone face band. They are certified to the European eye protection standard EN 166 and have an ultraviolet (UV) filter to EN 170.
What are they used for?
- Sanding and leveling down of stuccos and filler putties (coarse dust, of more than 5 microns)
- Work with a scalpel or chisel, when a particle flies toward the eyes
- Dismantling of frames and stretchers: removal of nails, staples and brads
- Overhead work on ceilings, vaults and coffered ceilings, where drops of water or of the aqueous product being applied fall
- Preparation of glues, mortars and aqueous dispersions on the work table
Why choose the Safetop Phoenix 10490 goggles?
- Certified to EN 166: optical class 1, designed to be worn for long periods; resistance to impacts from high-speed particles of medium energy (B); protection against liquid droplets (3) and against coarse dust, of more than 5 microns (µm) (4)
- Ultraviolet filter to EN 170, grade 2C-1.2: the “C” indicates good color recognition
- Curved polycarbonate lens for greater side protection, with an anti-fog treatment
- Can be worn over most prescription glasses
Presentation and storage
- Presentation: 1 pair of goggles
- Lens 19 cm from side to side, 4.2 cm high at its highest point and 2.5 mm thick
- Manufacturer's reference: Safetop
10490(EAN barcode 8430877026544)
Care of the goggles
- The lens is polycarbonate, and polycarbonate is attacked by acetone, ketones such as methyl ethyl ketone (MEK), chlorinated solvents and aromatics: they crack it and make it opaque through contact or concentrated vapor. These are not the goggles for continuous work with those solvents; if that is your case, write to us, and we will find the right ones for you
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between goggles and open-frame work spectacles?
Open-frame spectacles reach low-energy impacts at most. Goggles fit the contour of the face and are the ones that can also carry the marking for medium-energy impact (B), liquid droplets (3) and coarse dust (4), according to the EN 166 application table published by the INSST (National Institute for Safety and Health at Work).
Can I wear them over my prescription glasses?
Yes, they can be worn over most prescription glasses.
Are they anti-fog?
Yes, the lens has an anti-fog treatment.
What does the UV filter 2C-1.2 mean?
It is an ultraviolet filter to the EN 170 standard. The “C” indicates good color recognition, and 1.2 is the protection grade.
Phoenix or Pextrem?
Both are goggles with an ultraviolet filter and protection against impacts, liquid droplets and coarse dust. The Safetop Pextrem 10500 has in its marking the T (impact also at extreme temperatures, from −5 to 55 °C according to the manufacturer), the K (resistance to scratching by fine particles) and the N (resistance to fogging), and has a panoramic field of view of 180°.
Are they sold by the unit?
Yes, each unit is 1 pair of goggles.
