Safetop Pextrem 10500 — 180° panoramic vision, with anti-fog and anti-scratch in the marking

Protective goggles with a 180° panoramic field of view. The frame is a double injection of polycarbonate and thermoplastic rubber (TPR), with an adjustable elastic band that fits the contour of the face. They are certified to the European eye protection standard EN 166 with resistance to fogging (N) and to scratching by fine particles (K) in their own marking, and have an ultraviolet (UV) filter to EN 170.

What are they used for?

  • Sanding and leveling down of stuccos and filler putties (coarse dust, of more than 5 microns)
  • Work with a scalpel or chisel, when a particle flies toward the eyes
  • Dismantling of frames and stretchers: removal of nails, staples and brads
  • Overhead work on ceilings, vaults and coffered ceilings, where drops of water or of the aqueous product being applied fall
  • Outdoor interventions —portals, façades, outdoor sculpture—, where impact resistance is maintained from −5 to 55 °C according to the manufacturer (marking T)

Why choose the Safetop Pextrem 10500 goggles?

  • Marking EN 166 1 B T 3 4 K N: optical class 1, designed to be worn for long periods; impact of high-speed particles of medium energy (B), also at extreme temperatures (T, from −5 to 55 °C according to the manufacturer); liquid droplets (3); coarse dust, of more than 5 microns (µm) (4); resistance to surface damage by fine particles (K) and to fogging (N)
  • Ultraviolet filter to EN 170, grade 2C-1.2: the “C” indicates good color recognition
  • Panoramic field of view of 180°
  • Can be worn over most prescription glasses and together with other personal protective equipment (PPE)

Presentation and storage

  • Presentation: 1 pair of goggles
  • Clean the lenses with compatible cloths to preserve the treatments
  • Manufacturer's reference: Safetop 10500 (EAN barcode 8430877055667)

Care of the goggles

  • The goggles are made of polycarbonate and thermoplastic rubber (TPR), and polycarbonate is attacked by acetone, ketones such as methyl ethyl ketone (MEK), chlorinated solvents and aromatics: they crack it and make it opaque through contact or concentrated vapor. These are not the goggles for continuous work with those solvents; if that is your case, write to us, and we will find the right ones for you

Frequently asked questions

What does the marking 1 B T 3 4 K N mean?
1: optical class for long periods of use. B: impact of high-speed particles of medium energy. T: that impact requirement is also met at extreme temperatures (from −5 to 55 °C according to the manufacturer). 3: liquid droplets. 4: coarse dust, of more than 5 µm. K: resistance to surface damage by fine particles. N: resistance to fogging.
What is the difference between goggles and open-frame work spectacles?
Open-frame spectacles reach low-energy impacts at most. Goggles fit the contour of the face and are the ones that can also carry the marking for medium-energy impact (B), liquid droplets (3) and coarse dust (4), according to the EN 166 application table published by the INSST (National Institute for Safety and Health at Work).
Can I wear them over my prescription glasses?
Yes, they can be worn over most prescription glasses.
Does the T mean they withstand heat?
No. The T indicates that impact resistance is also met at extreme temperatures, between −5 and 55 °C according to the manufacturer. It is not a certification against heat or against molten metal.
Pextrem or Phoenix?
Both are goggles with an ultraviolet filter and protection against impacts, liquid droplets and coarse dust. The Pextrem has the T, the K and the N in its marking, and has a 180° field of view. The Safetop Phoenix 10490 has a polypropylene frame with a flexible thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) face band and a micro-perforated silicone band.
Do they come with spare parts?
No, the manufacturer does not supply spare parts.
