Liquitex Bio-Based Heavy Cadmium-Free Red Medium — professional high-viscosity acrylic in a 500 ml jar

Professional high-viscosity acrylic paint with a high pigment load, in Cadmium-Free Red Medium (No. 894). It is a medium orange-red, opaque and with high tinting strength, formulated to reproduce the brilliance, covering power and intensity of traditional cadmium red medium without containing cadmium. It has excellent lightfastness: I on the ASTM scale (American Society for Testing and Materials). The Bio-Based Heavy range has an average content of 50% bio-based raw materials, measured by carbon-14 analysis.

What is it used for?

The Bio-Based Heavy range is intended for:

  • Impasto: the thick paste retains brush and palette-knife marks.
  • Textures with brush or palette knife.
  • Alla prima painting.

It is applied to stretched canvas, paper and cardboard, photographic paper, wood, fabric, glass, plaster and brick, clay and ceramic.

Presentation and storage

  • Presentation: 500 ml (16.9 US fl oz) plastic jar with a screw cap, with easy access to all the paint. The jars in the range are made of recycled PET (RPET, recycled polyethylene terephthalate).
  • Store in the original container, tightly closed, in a cool, well-ventilated place, protected from direct sunlight and heat sources. Keep away from strong acids and bases.
  • Shelf life: 5 to 7 years for the brand’s acrylics, stored at room temperature, tightly closed and uncontaminated.
  • Contains 1,2-benzisothiazol-3(2H)-one (1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one) and 2-methyl-1,2-benzisothiazol-3(2H)-one. May produce an allergic reaction.
  • Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Do not eat, drink or smoke while working. Wash your hands with soap and water when finished. Do not pour down drains.
