Laboratory Coat 100% Cotton Twill 190 gsm

The 100% Cotton Lab Coat is workwear for the workshop and conservation and restoration classroom: long sleeves, full front closure, and 190 g/m² twill fabric. It acts as a two-way barrier — it retains splashes and dust before they reach street clothes, and keeps fibers, buttons, and zippers from street clothes off the work.

Features

• 100% cotton. This is the deciding property for purchase in a workshop where flammable solvents are handled: polyester burns easily and melts onto the skin, and once melted, it traps the wearer within the garment. Cotton also burns, but does not melt.
• Full front closure with hidden snaps: an open coat does not act as a barrier, and the snaps are covered by the fabric placket, with no exposed metal towards the work.

What it is and what it is not

It is workwear. It is not personal protective equipment (PPE) and is not flame-retardant: untreated cotton is still a flammable fabric. This coat does not declare any protective performance standard — neither EN ISO 11612 (heat and flame), nor EN 13034 Type 6 (light chemical splash), nor EN 1149 (electrostatic properties) — and therefore we do not attribute any to it. What you are buying is the composition and construction: cotton, long sleeves, and full closure. If your classroom or workshop has a declared ignition source (hot plate, heat gun, Bunsen burner, torch), the appropriate garment is different, with flame-retardant treatment and a cited standard; write to us and we will find it for you.
