Winsor & Newton round watercolour brush, No. 10, in natural Kolinsky sable hair, a hair of animal origin. Short birch handle, sculpted with a matt finish, and a seamless nickel ferrule. Handmade. The No. 10 has a 6.3 mm diameter ferrule and 27 mm of visible hair. The rounds in the range run from No. 00 to No. 12.

Caring for the brush: what to avoid

  • Never hot water: it coagulates the paint and damages the brush. Wash with cool water or, at most, lukewarm.
  • No harsh soaps: they strip the natural oils from the hair. Wash with a little mild soap.
  • Do not store it damp: it goes in the pot when completely dry and with the tip reshaped.

Do colour stains on the hair mean it is damaged?
No. Slight stains are normal and do not affect the performance of the brush.
