Reemay® — Non-woven polyester fabric for conservation (50 m roll)

Reemay® is a 100% polyester (PET) non-woven fabric (NW) manufactured by a spunbond process: continuous filaments spun and thermomechanically welded, without binders or plasticizers. The result is a chemically inert, neutral, and acid-free material with an open weave that offers high permeability and drainage. It has been a standard material in conservation-restoration laboratories and archives for decades.

• 17 g/m² (Reemay® 2250) — light: facing, protection, and delicate interleaving.
• 34 g/m² (Reemay® 2014) — medium: the most versatile, balance of strength/fineness.
• 71 g/m² (Reemay® 2024) — strong support for handling under tension.

• Weight: 33.9 g/m² (ASTM D3776).
• Thickness: 0.24 mm (ASTM D1777).
• Air permeability: 6970 l/m²/s at 196 Pa (ASTM D737) — very high.
• Tensile grab MD / CD: 93.4 / 75.6 N (ASTM D4632).
• White color · PET softens around 250 °C (wide margin compared to C&R irons).

Conservation note

Reemay® contains optical brighteners (OBAs). It is an auxiliary material — it does not remain in the work — ideal for the vast majority of treatments. For encapsulation of historical photographs, consult us and we will guide you on the best option.
