Point protector — so the pencil reaches you as it left
A pencil or an eraser pencil travels badly on its own: one knock to the parcel is enough to fracture the graphite inside without a mark showing, and you find out on the first stroke. This service puts a cap on the end before we pack it. It is not an accessory you take home: it is how we prepare your order.
What is it for?
- Graphite pencils bought singly — the ones that travel with no case to hold them.
- Precision eraser pencils, where the fragile part is not the graphite but the eraser core itself.
- Double-ended pieces, which get two caps — one at each end.
How it is charged
- 0.20 EUR for each loose pencil or eraser pencil in your order. Two pencils, 0.40 EUR.
- Double-ended costs no more. A pencil with two ends gets two caps and still counts as one unit: the price covers the service for that pencil, not each cap.
- Cases, blisters and sets do not need it and are not offered it: they already come with their own support.
Why add it?
- Transport damage does not show when you open the parcel. The graphite fractures inside the wood and the pencil looks intact until you sharpen it and it keeps breaking layer after layer.
- It covers the cap, the plastic around it and the work of fitting it.
- It does not replace the packaging. Your order travels protected either way. What changes is that the point arrives intact and the piece is presented as it should be.
Format and storage
- Added from the cart, and the quantity adjusts itself to the number of loose pencils you are buying.
- Fitted when your order is packed; it is not shipped loose.
- On arrival, pull it straight off, without twisting, so it does not drag on the point.
- Reusable: it works just as well for keeping the pencil in a case or in a coat pocket.
The limits, stated
- It does not repair what is already broken. If the graphite comes fractured from the factory, a cap will not fix it — that is a fault and we replace the piece.
- It does not apply to cases, blisters or sets. They already come with their own support and adding it achieves nothing.
- It is not a guarantee. It greatly reduces the risk in transit; it does not remove it. If something arrives damaged, write to us and we sort it out anyway.
Frequently asked questions
What does it cost if I buy several pencils?
0.20 EUR for each one. Three loose pencils come to 0.60 EUR. The cart works it out for you: there are no quantities to adjust by hand.
My pencil has two ends — am I charged twice?
No. It gets two caps, one at each end, and still costs 0.20 EUR. The price covers the service for that pencil, not each cap.
Is it worth it on an inexpensive pencil?
That is your call, and it is reasonable either way. On a working pencil you use daily, an intact point shows from the first stroke. On a spare, it may not be worth it.
Does my order travel unprotected without it?
No. Everything ships properly packed, with material that cushions the journey. This is specific protection for the point, which is the part general packaging does not hold.
Does it work for brushes?
It is not the same thing and we do not offer it for brushes right now. If you would find it useful, tell us — that is exactly the kind of thing we add when someone asks.
