Off-white plastic bone folder for folding, creasing, and pressing paper in bookbinding and graphic art restoration. An economical and water-resistant alternative to the bone folder.

Uses

Creasing and reinforcing folds, pressing paper grafts, smoothing reinforcements, and working edges. The tip fits into narrow areas; the edge folds and smooths large surfaces.

Plastic or bone?

Both do the same job; the difference is in the material:

• Plastic (this one): non-porous, so it won't transfer a grayish mark even if you work with damp paper or wet grafts. It's washable and more economical. The best option for wet work.
• Bone: gives a more matte finish and a more traditional feel. On coated paper and with strong pressure, plastic can leave some shine where bone would not.

It's off-white plastic (imitation): it's not bone or ivory.

Available models

• Large straight: elongated shape with a beveled tip, in the style of the classic bone folder. For general folding and smoothing.
• Small wavy: S-curved profile with a hole, comfortable for detail work and adapting to curves.
