Flower Shaped Porcelain Mixing Palette — Watercolor and Restoration

Glazed white porcelain mixing palette, flower-shaped, with radial wells around a central basin. For mixing and grading colors in chromatic reintegration and water-based painting.

Purpose

Mixing support for aqueous chromatic reintegration: retouching watercolor, dissolved conservation colors, or pigment bound with Aquazol. The perimeter wells isolate each shade, and the central basin allows for mixing and grading. Also suitable for watercolor, gouache, acrylic, and traditional Chinese painting.

Why porcelain?

• Non-porous and inert surface: does not absorb pigment or binder, does not stain with use.
• Solvent resistant: glazed porcelain withstands acetone and ethanol without damage, unlike plastic palettes. Allows cleaning of retouching residue with solvent.
• Neutral white: allows judging the true color of the mixture without a dominant background.

It is ceramic: resistant to daily use, but fragile if dropped or impacted.
