MIR Odorless Petroleum Essence — Odorless Diluent for Oil Painting and Restoration

Thanks to a special distillation process, this essence is completely odorless, ideal for scent-sensitive environments. It is a dearomatized aliphatic thinner for oil paint and for cleaning brushes and utensils.

Why choose this essence?

• Odorless: same performance as turpentine, without its characteristic aroma.
• Thins oil paints and varnishes and reduces their viscosity.
• Gentler than aromatic solvents.

Uses and applications

Thinning oil paint, mediums, and varnishes, and cleaning brushes. In conservation-restoration, as a thinner and gentle cleaning agent. It does not replace conservation-grade solvents with polarity control (Shellsol, Gamsol) in delicate cleanings. Choose the format from the dropdown menu.
