Why brass and not iron?

Brass does not stain paper like iron. Iron or steel clips rust with humidity and leave permanent discoloration on historical documents, photographs, and graphic works. Solid brass contains no iron, so it cannot produce this stain — and under normal conservation conditions (controlled humidity, no untreated wooden furniture) it is stable.

Which size to choose

L (5 × 2.5 cm): larger support surface, suitable for thicker documents or stacks of several sheets. M (5 × 1.5 cm): smaller contact footprint, recommended for more delicate or smaller format pieces.

Compatibility

Temporary use on historical and contemporary paper, Japanese paper, parchment, and photographs — with a neutral paper or polyester barrier between the clip and the artwork. Recommended for workshop, treatment, and documents in use; for long-term definitive storage, remove the clip.
