Lascaux 375 BEVA Film is a high-quality hot-melt adhesive formulated from a blend of copolymer resins and paraffin, specifically developed for the demands of art restoration and conservation on textiles. Available in a roll measuring 69 cm × 6 m.
Uses and applications
- Lining of paintings on canvas, with or without an intermediate fabric
- Mounting of paper or textile on rigid or flexible supports
- Strip-lining (perimeter reinforcement of canvases)
- Facings for protection of paint layers during interventions
- Consolidation of paint layers at risk of detachment
- Temporary and permanent adhesions depending on temperature and pressure applied
- Preparation of thin adhesive layers on delicate supports
Why choose Lascaux 375 BEVA Film?
- Reversible with appropriate solvents (white spirit, ligroin)
- Compatible with linen, cotton, and synthetic fibers
- Non-yellowing over time
Technical characteristics
- Base: acrylic copolymers and paraffin (BEVA 371 formulation in film)
- Roll width: 69 cm
- Length: 6 m per roll
- Activation: heat (lining iron, heated spatula, or suction table)
How to use
Apply the film between the original and the reinforcement fabric. Activate with heat at a low temperature (60–70 °C) and controlled pressure. For temporary adhesions, reduce temperature and contact time. Consult the Lascaux technical data sheet for exact parameters depending on the support.
