Mini Laboratory Magnetic Stirrer

The Mini Magnetic Laboratory Stirrer is a compact benchtop stirrer for homogenizing solutions and aqueous preparations in the conservation and restoration workshop. It is designed for daily preparation work: dissolving cellulose ethers and homogenizing aqueous systems with surfactant without having to stir by hand.

How to prepare a cellulose ether

• Incorporate the powder slowly into the stirring liquid, never all at once
• Maintain sustained stirring and give it time: the polymer needs to hydrate
• Work at a low and stable speed to avoid incorporating air
• Let the preparation rest before use, so that trapped bubbles can escape

The plate is made of PVC and acts as the apparatus's lid, not a laboratory tray. Acetone and aromatics like toluene or xylene attack it; with aqueous systems, there is no problem. If a drop falls, wipe it dry immediately and do not leave liquid on it.
