Color: Blanco de China Permanente

MIR Extra-Fine Watercolor is a transparent water-based paint where the whites and luminosity of the artwork are provided by the paper support itself. It is made with the same permanent pigments accepted for oil painting and, as a binder, the traditional aqueous solution of gum arabic. Available in 8 ml tubes.

Why choose MIR Extra-Fine Watercolor?

  • High-quality permanent pigments, the same ones accepted for oil.
  • Traditional gum arabic binder: transparency and luminosity.
  • Completely reversible with water: a dry watercolor on the palette can be reactivated by moistening it.
  • 8 ml tube, a convenient and efficient format.

Uses and Applications

  • Watercolor painting: transparent technique on paper, washes, and glazes.
  • Chromatic reintegration in conservation-restoration: watercolor is a classic retouching medium, transparent and reversible with water, ideal for reintegrating losses in a discernible and reversible way according to C&R criteria.
  • Illustration and sketching: notes, botanical, and scientific illustration.

How to use

The fine pigment particles are retained in the interstices of the paper fibers, with gum arabic promoting their adhesion. Drying occurs by simple evaporation of water. A dry watercolor on the palette can be recovered by softening it with water and reused.

Safety

Low-risk product under normal use. Some colors (cadmiums) contain pigments with hazard classification; consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for the corresponding color and avoid ingestion. Keep out of reach of children.
